Kind, helpful, gentle people. Everything sells out quickly, so need to visit early. Coffee and butter croissants are the best anywhere, even in comparison to France.

Loaf serves up authentic French pastries and bread from an inauspicious location downtown Durham. Don’t miss this delightful bakery tucked away in the center of town. The service is outstanding and the food is genuinely divine. You’ll think you died and went to Paris.

Odes should be written about Loaf’s devotion to butter. As a Montreal, Canada expat, Loaf has been my French bakery oasis for the past 11 years. Everything they make is perfection and—no exaggeration intended, only serious facts here—my croissant-shaped heart and 2nd belly roll (a tribute to Loaf’s pain aux raisins) would wither without them!

Loaf bakery is simply exceptional! They are a bit pricier than other local bakeries, but their breads are always perfect and the flavors, craftsmanship and attention to detail evident in their French pastries truly creates an *experience* worth enjoying! I can’t recommend loaf highly enough.

Amazing pastries with a great vibe. The shop has a limit of 3 people in the store at a time. All the things i brought tasted fresh and so good. While you shop you can catch a glimpse of people making fresh breads in the back which was so cool. They have a wide selection and i will definitely go again!

We picked up some delicious breakfast on Saturday morning - savory tart + croissant and a fig scone. All were excellent. The gentleman who helped us with our order got us in and out of there quickly. Highly recommend!

First time visiting Durham and we had to go inside of Loaf because we saw good looking breads! The milk bread was awesome. It reminds me of my home country’s white bread- Shokupan! It was as authentic as I could be besides the one I used to get from Japanese supermarket in Ohio. We also got eclair and it was delicious too. Come to Wilmington please!

Loved how warm it is inside! The chocolate croissant and the cinnamon roll I bought were sweet with a great texture. Will visit again!

Delicious French (and maybe Belgian) baked goods. Croissants, baguettes, and caneles are the best in the area. Fantastic almond croissants only sold at the brick and mortar store and not the farmers market. I also like their breads, particularly the fruit ones. And the holiday cakes (Buche de Noel, for example) are stupendous.

The best croissant in the triangle! This place rocks! You have to try it! The staff is super friendly! But watch out, they're closed on Monday and Tuesday.
